Role Summary
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Rehabilitation Counsellor to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with clients to assess their needs and develop tailored rehabilitation plans, helping them overcome vocational, social, and personal challenges. You will provide counselling, information, and strategies to support individuals in improving their wellbeing, independence, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct counselling sessions to support client rehabilitation goals.
Assess client needs and develop tailored rehabilitation plans.
Provide advice, resources, and strategies to assist with personal and vocational adjustment.
Support clients in achieving behavioural change and improved wellbeing.
Collaborate with other professionals and maintain accurate client records.
This role is being hired on a permanent full-time basis.
Skills, Attributes and Experience
Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Counselling, Rehabilitation Counselling, or a related field (or equivalent).
Strong understanding of vocational, social, and emotional rehabilitation needs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
Knowledge of counselling approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy and interpersonal therapy.
Ability to develop and implement effective rehabilitation plans.
Compassionate, patient, and adaptable in supporting clients with diverse needs.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Organisational skills with attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
