We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Wellbeing Counsellor to support farmers and small business owners across South West Victoria, including Geelong, Ballarat, and Warrnambool. This role focuses on providing one-to-one therapeutic counselling, developing tailored wellbeing plans, and coordinating wellbeing programs, including access to emergency supplies when needed.
The successful candidate will work closely with financial counsellors to help clients manage situational stress and enhance their resilience.
About Us:
Finwell Support Ltd (t/a RFCS Victoria West) is a 35-year-strong, rapidly expanding regional not-for-profit dedicated to strengthening rural communities by providing business and wellbeing support to farmers and regional small business owners. Our service delivery covers western Victoria, from the south coast to Sunraysia.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Diploma or degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
Experience in therapeutic counselling, mental health, or rural community support.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with IT systems such as Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and remotely.
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-to-one counselling sessions (individual, couples, and family).
Provide outreach and remote counselling to farming and small business communities.
Develop and implement personalised wellbeing plans and support programs.
Offer guidance, referrals, and connections to relevant community agencies.
Work collaboratively with financial counsellors to assist clients with business and grant support.
Promote wellbeing services and build networks across the region.
Remuneration and other information:
Salary $88,000 - 97,000 per annum (plus superannuation)
FTE: 1.0 (negotiable)
Fixed term contract (One year)
Remote (work from home)
