About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and skilled Domestic Violence Counsellors to provide culturally safe counselling for adults and children impacted by family and domestic violence (FDV), including individuals who have used violence. This role involves supporting clients impacted by trauma, assessing risk, undertaking safety planning, and supporting meaningful changes in their lives. Service accessibility will be enhanced through outreach in accordance with organisational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Provide professional and respectful individual counselling to women, men, and children affected by FDV.

Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and support clients in addressing FDV-related concerns.

Deliver services in line with current best practice standards

Participate in individual and group supervision to support reflective practice and ongoing professional development.

Contribute to service planning, development, and evaluation.

About You

We are looking for professionals with:

Tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work

Current National Police Certificate (upon request) and Working with Children Check

Experience working with FDV

Current and comprehensive knowledge of FDV counselling skills and FDV standards of practice.

Proven ability to adhere to clinical, professional, and ethical standards

Ability to work with children and adolescence.
