About the Position
Reporting to the Manager Engineering Services, this position is responsible for coordinating a team, and managing the scheduling and delivery of engineering projects within the City's Infrastructure Capital Works Program. The Coordinator Engineering Delivery also supports other infrastructure-related initiatives as required. Key responsibilities include overseeing the delivery of routine, periodic and specific maintenance programs, and providing support to the Asset Management & Infrastructure Support team, the Engineering Design team and other infrastructure business units if required.
The works could include though are not limited to the construction and maintenance of roads, road resurfacing and rehabilitation, stormwater drainage systems, footpaths, car parks, right of ways, traffic management measures, jetties, and footbridges. In ensuring the timely completion of these works this position is required to oversee and ensure the effective management of scheduling, programming and developing or project plans, contract management, costing, quality, workplace/ site safety and affected residents. In addition, the role provides leadership and supports the Roads and Drainage Supervisor, ensuring the effective coordination and management of the Roads and Drainage team.
To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:
- Sound project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects or significant tasks concurrently and excellent time management.
- Highly developed people leadership and financial management skills.
- High aptitude, for delivering excellent customer service.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong contractor management skills.
- Strong computing skills in scheduling, project management, spreadsheets and Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience in a similar role within Local Government or comparable organisation.
- Possession of a tertiary qualification or Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
- Project Management qualifications - desirable.
