WANTED: ‘Switched-On’ Project Engineer – Civil Construction
EXCITING OPPORTUNITY – Concrete & Drainage Projects – Be Part of Building Something Bigger
Sick of working in a role where you’re buried in paperwork, stuck in outdated systems, and constantly chasing your tail?
This could be the most important job ad you’ll read this year.
Here’s why:
We’re looking for a proactive, ‘switched-on’ Project Engineer to take ownership of delivering our concrete and drainage projects — and help us build and refine the systems and processes that will shape Theo Group’s future.
This isn’t a corporate box-ticking role. You’ll be right in the mix — from pre-start planning, to site visits, to client updates, to ensuring the job gets delivered to the highest standard.
We want someone who’s ready to grow with us, be part of a young high-performing team, and have a genuine say in how things are done.
But who the hell are we?
We’re Theo Group — a small, family-operated civil construction company specialising in in-situ concrete works, drainage, civil contracting, and precast installation.
We work with Main Roads WA, BHP, South32, Talison and other major contractors on projects across metro and regional WA. We’re big enough to take on major projects, but small enough to keep that family-first, tight-knit culture.
The ‘Switched-On’ Project Engineer we’re looking for will:
Take ownership of project delivery from start to finish
Coordinate employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and site crews to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
Tendering and estimates
Monitor program, costs, and quality — and solve problems before they become headaches
Prepare project documentation (ITPs, RFIs, progress claims) without drowning in red tape
Be hands-on enough to know what’s happening on site — and sharp enough to drive improvements in the office
Help us build and roll out new systems and processes that will set us up for long-term success, including set up of new software and programs to drive efficiency.
What we need from you:
Civil engineering or construction management qualifications (or solid project delivery experience in civil works)
3+ Years onsite experience within civil and structural concrete
Evaluating construction methods, sequences and requirements
A track record in delivering concrete and/or drainage projects
Strong understanding of MRWA standards and infrastructure delivery
The ability to lead, influence, and communicate at all levels — from the crew on the ground to the client in the boardroom
A growth mindset and a willingness to roll your sleeves up when needed
What’s in it for you:
Ownership & Influence – Your voice will shape how we deliver projects and how our business runs
Diverse Projects – Work across metro and regional WA, with clients that trust us to deliver
Small Company Values – A close-knit team that looks out for each other and celebrates the wins.
Flexible working - Family first culture and working arrangements, flexible rosters, work/life balance
Career Growth – This role can evolve with you — develop your leadership skills and move up as we grow. We are after a long term person to help shape our future together
Competitive Remuneration and Annual Performance Bonuses
If you’re ready to step into a role where you’re not just another cog in the machine — but an integral part of a team that values your input and your future — we’d love to hear from you.
