Are you a skilled Project Manager with a background in civil infrastructure and natural disaster recovery?

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client, Dungog Shire Council, for a hands-on, capable Project Manager to join their team immediately on a casual basis with full-time hours.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the planning and delivery of civil works and disaster recovery projects across the Dungog Shire. You’ll be based at the Council’s Works Depot, working a 35-hour week, and managing a range of infrastructure projects – particularly those linked to natural disasters (DRFA), landslips, and road rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end delivery of civil and disaster recovery projects.

Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and contractor management.

Ensure compliance with DRFA guidelines and funding requirements.

Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to keep projects on track.

Monitor safety, environmental, and quality standards across worksites.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience delivering civil works and/or disaster recovery projects.

Familiar with DRFA guidelines, public sector project funding, and local government processes is highly desirable.

Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.

Strong leadership, communication, and contractor management skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and community-focused environment.
