Take the lead of a growing HR Advisor Service supporting volunteers who give Every Child Every Chance.
P&Cs Qld is the peak body supporting and representing the more than 900,000 state school parents and wider school communities throughout Queensland. P&Cs Qld provides support to approximately 1,266 Queensland state school parent associations with over 74,000 volunteers.
P&Cs Qld has an exciting opportunity to lead the ongoing development of our HR Support Service, established in 2021. This service delivers practical advice and guidance to 288 (and growing) P&C Associations on employment relations, staff matters, workplace entitlements, compliance, and best practice policies and procedures.
The role includes:
Leading the business unit, including decision-making on growth strategy, marketing, financial performance and recruitment
Providing employment relations and human resources advice to P&C Association executives (employers) by phone, email and in person
Driving additional fee-for-service offerings such as workplace investigations, mediations, disciplinary meetings / representation
Developing practical resources such as template employment contracts, position descriptions, letters, policies and procedures
Presenting to members on employment relations and human resources topics at meetings, webinars, roadshows and conferences
Leadership of team (1 direct report)
Ideal skills and experience:
Proven experience in a similar role providing clear verbal and written employment relations advice and guidance to employers
Demonstrated skills in interpreting legislation and awards, and developing compliant policies and procedures
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to advise confidently on sensitive employment matters
Qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations or a related discipline
Knowledge and understanding of P&C operations and practices (highly regarded)
The Benefits:

Circa $110 - $120k plus Superannuation
