About the role

This full-time role is an exciting opportunity to join Ballantyne's finance team as a Senior Accountant. Working from our South Melbourne office, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial reporting and accounting processes.

This role is an integral part of the finance team. Included within the role will be the preparation of month end reporting, monthly management reporting and preparation of annual budgets.

What you'll be doing

Prepare monthly accounting information, including P&L and balance sheet

Prepare monthly reporting and commentary on the key drivers of business performance, working closely with the business to maintain up to date forecast information, identify financial risks and put forward recommendations to improve financial performance

Manage intercompany accounting processes

Variance analysis vs budget forecast and prior period

Payroll reconciliations review, payroll cost analysis and payroll journal

Prepare and review insurance declarations

Work with the auditors and tax accountants to finalise the statutory accounts

Prepare and lodge monthly BAS and yearly FBT

What we're looking for

Professionally qualified accountant (CA or CPA) with 5+ years of post-qualification experience

Proven track record in a senior or management accounting role, preferably within a fast-paced, commercial environment

Exceptional financial reporting and analytical skills, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and standards

Proficient in the use of financial software and data analysis tools, such as Excel and ERP systems

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels

Proactive problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
