Are you a Speech Pathologist ready to make a meaningful impact and grow your career in a supportive, fun, and dynamic private practice? At Wide Bay Therapy, we're not just a workplace; we're a close-knit team that feels like family. We're dedicated to helping you become the best version of yourself, both professionally and personally.

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced or new graduate Speech Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Gympie, QLD. We're looking for someone ready to be a part of a practice that prioritises exceptional client care and a positive team culture.

Discover Your New Lifestyle in the Beautiful Gympie Region

While we may not be in the city, we offer a lifestyle that is hard to beat. Gympie provides a perfect blend of a relaxed country town atmosphere with all the amenities you need, plus incredible access to Queensland's stunning natural wonders.

Affordable Living: Say goodbye to city rents! Gympie offers a significantly lower cost of living and more affordable housing options, allowing you to get ahead financially and achieve your personal goals faster.

The Best of Both Worlds: You'll be just a short drive from world-class destinations. Spend your weekends with the sand between your toes at the iconic Rainbow Beach (just a 45-minute drive away) or explore the cafes and boutiques of beautiful Noosa (less than an hour south).

A Thriving Community: Gympie is a growing and vibrant community with a genuine small-town feel. You'll find great local cafes, restaurants, parks, and regular weekend markets. Enjoy community events like the renowned Gympie Music Muster and the Mary Valley Rattler heritage train.

Nature at Your Doorstep: The Gympie region is a playground for outdoor lovers. Explore national parks, go kayaking on the Mary River, hike through state forests, or go mountain biking on the Victory Heights trails. If you're passionate about the outdoors, you'll feel right at home here.

What We Offer You

Exceptional Supervision & Mentorship: We believe in your growth. That’s why we offer individualised, paid supervision with an experienced clinician. Additionally, you'll have on-site support available at all times from our Director and Senior Occupational Therapist, Christine Watson. With over 20 years of clinical experience and expertise in managing allied health teams, Christine will be on hand to offer immediate guidance, support, and direction whenever you need it, ensuring you never feel lost or without help. This is in addition to our structured internal professional development program.

Generous Professional Development: Beyond in-house training, you'll receive a rewarding CPD budget tailored to your career goals and vision. We invest in your passion for learning and innovation.

Work-Life Balance: We've developed a sustainable caseload model with a focus on quality client care over high volume. Your work week includes dedicated non-clinical time for documentation, report writing, and resource development. We encourage you to design a schedule that suits your personal and family needs, with regular time off.

A Supportive & Collaborative Team: Join our team of passionate therapists and support staff. You’ll get to collaborate with a diverse range of professionals, sharing knowledge and working together to achieve outstanding client outcomes.

Everything You Need to Succeed: We provide a company vehicle for community visits, all the necessary technology and tools of the trade, and full administrative support from our experienced team. This allows you to focus on what you do best, delivering exceptional client care.

Who We Are Looking For

An experienced or new graduate Speech Pathologist with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology.

Member of Speech Pathology Australia, or eligible for membership upon graduation.

Someone with a genuine passion for helping clients and a strong desire for continuous learning and growth.

A team player who embodies our values of being nurturing, dependable, and grateful to serve our community.

Our New Graduate Program: Start Your Career Strong

We understand that starting your career is a significant step, and we’ve designed a program to provide you with all the support you need to succeed. As a new graduate at Wide Bay Therapy, you'll benefit from:

Exceptional Support: We provide individualised, paid supervision with an experienced clinician. Our Director offers on-site support, immediate guidance, and direction whenever you need it.

Clear Goals: You'll work toward a set of graded key performance indicators (KPIs) that are designed to help you build your caseload and clinical skills at a sustainable pace, ensuring you never feel overwhelmed.

Structured Development: Our structured internal professional development program is designed to guide you through your first year and beyond, helping you grow into a confident, skilled, and independent clinician.

Graduate Program Progression: Transforming you from a new grad into a skilled therapist.

A gentle onboarding will allow you to become familiar with our systems and programs without the pressure of an immediate caseload.

Work shadowing experienced therapists and being shadowed by therapists will allow you to develop your clinical skills.

Minimal caseload will allow you to settle into the role with plenty of time for preparation, documentation and supervision.

Grow your caseload as you develop your skills and become more comfortable. Your caseload will increase in line with your experience.

What Our Team Says:

"Coming to work is a pleasure when you get to work at Wide Bay Therapy. As a new graduate, I have been supported and encouraged in every aspect of my professional career. Every day is interesting and different, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing team." - Emily, Wide Bay Therapy clinician.
