Duchess Medical Practice has been providing quality General Practice to the Busselton community for over 35 years. We have two sites, one in central Busselton and another in the growing suburb of Vasse.

About the role

Our Practice offers a unique service to our patient community with this mental health role, improving the well being and care of our patients requiring mental health treatment.

You will manage resources to deliver quality patient outcomes and organise the planning, implementation and evaluation of the mental health and basic associated care requirements of patients. This role will also administer and monitor compliance with medication.

This role has been an integral part of our practice for 20 years with positive feedback from our clients, our GPs and community over this time.

Qualifications & experience

Qualifications are required in specialist mental health nursing and you will need to meet credentialing requirements of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.

Applicants are to have a broad range of skills including knowledge and experience in the following areas:

Establishing a therapeutic relationship

Mental health assessment and monitoring

Clinical care and treatment planning

Risk assessment and monitoring

Pharmacology, psycho-education, physical health care

Treatment team coordination, supervision and case discussion

Health promotion and coaching

Collaboration with patients, carers and stakeholders
