Principal HR Consultant
(Part-Time, 3 Days Per Week – Growing Opportunity)
Be part of something bigger.
At Amplify HR, we’re on a mission to create workplaces that truly engage and inspire. We work with ambitious small and medium-sized businesses who know their people are the key to growth — and we give them the HR partnership they need to unlock it.
We’re expanding and looking for a remarkable HR Consultant to join our team. This isn’t your typical HR role. From day one, you’ll be the trusted partner for a global software start-up 2 days per week with your third day a mix of professional services firms from event production to engineering services. It’s a unique opportunity to bring your HR expertise to fast growing businesses— and to play a key part in shaping their people strategy.
Why you’ll love this role
Variety: No two days are the same — you’ll work directly with founders and leaders in a high-growth software business, while also partnering with other Amplify HR clients in Professional Services industries.
Growth: Start with 3 days per week (1 day is on site in the Sydney CBD) and grow your role to the number of days/hours that suit you as new clients come on board.
Impact: You’ll have autonomy to set priorities, take initiative, and make things happen — your work will directly influence how these businesses grow and succeed.
Balance: Flexibility to work remotely, with just one regular day in the Sydney CBD. We also have a modern office in Parramatta Square where you can work with the team( or stay home in your Ugg Boots if that's more your style)
What we’re looking for
An experienced HR generalist with exposure to professional services, software, start-ups, or tech-driven businesses.
Bonus points if you’ve worked with or supported overseas teams (UK experience is a big plus).
Someone proactive and self-motivated — you don’t wait to be told what to do, you create the plan and make it happen.
A high EQ communicator who can balance diplomacy with confidence: knowing when to support, when to challenge, and how to build strong, trusted relationships.
Resilient and adaptable — able to work with leaders who are passionate, driven, and sometimes a little pushy, while staying calm, friendly, and effective.
Availability - This role has a non-negotiable one day per week in the city CBD and you will need to be available for client calls with the UK (5-6pm AEST) from time to time.
Why Amplify HR?
We’re not a big corporate consultancy. We’re a close-knit team who genuinely care about making a difference. We value being trusted partners, human, embarking on continual learning, and getting stuff done. We’ll support you, challenge you, and celebrate your wins along the way.
If you’re ready to use your HR skills in a role where you’ll grow with us, work with exciting clients, and see the real impact of your work every day — we’d love to hear from you.
