HOUSING OFFICER – PART TIME (0.6 FTE)
Location: Fremantle & Surrounding Areas
Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 FTE (pro rata, plus super, depending on experience)
Hours: Approx. 3 days per week (flexible and negotiable)
We are seeking a Housing Officer (part-time) to join a purpose-driven housing team in Fremantle.
About Urban Fabric
Urban Fabric provides affordable medium to long-term accommodation to single adults and couples in the Fremantle area. We aim to create safe, respectful, and harmonious communities where people feel part of a caring environment.
Our Housing Services team manages everything from applications to property maintenance, supporting residents to have a positive and sustainable housing experience.
The Role
As a Housing Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting our residents and ensuring the smooth running of our properties. You’ll be a point of contact for housing enquiries, manage applications and agreements, liaise with trades, and support residents with empathy and respect.
This is a varied role where you’ll balance direct resident support with administration, inspections, and property management. You’ll contribute to creating welcoming, safe communities where people feel at home.
Key Responsibilities (under direction from the Housing Manager)
Respond to housing enquiries and manage applications
Maintain accurate waiting lists and complete rental agreements
Support residents with payment setups
Report and coordinate repairs and maintenance
Conduct property inspections (ingoing, outgoing, and routine)
Issue notices when required, with clear and compassionate communication
Keep accurate resident and property records
Liaise with residents, trades, and external agencies
Contribute to continuous improvement and team support
About You
You’re organised, approachable, and committed. You’ll bring:
Experience in community housing, property management, or a related role (or willingness to learn – training provided)
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office; database experience an advantage)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse communities
A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently
A current WA C-class driver’s licence (vehicle provided for work use)
What We Offer
Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 FTE depending on experience (pro rata for 0.6 FTE) + super
Flexible work arrangements (3 days may be spread over 4–5 days)
