About the Role
We're searching for a sharp and reliable Accounts/Bookkeeper to help keep our numbers in check. This part-time role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to work within a high-performing and supportive team based in Chippendale.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and reconciliations
- Prepare payroll and ensure superannuation compliance
- Assist with BAS preparation and liaise with external accountants
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
- Process and manage prepayments and accruals
- Keep financial records tidy and accurate
- Support management with ad hoc financial queries and reporting
- Handle payroll tax, superannuation submissions, and end-of-month adjustments
- Manage the accounts inbox and ensure timely responses
- Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations
What You Bring to the Table
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting and Bookkeeping, or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper or accounts officer
- Solid working knowledge of Xero; experience with Astute Payroll is a bonus
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Construction industry experience? A plus, but not a deal-breaker
