About Dandelion House:
Dandelion House is an accredited NDIS Disability Service Provider, operating in Newcastle, Maitland, and Dubbo regions. We provide supported independent living (SIL) and social & community participation support to people with a disability. About this Role:
We are looking for passionate and resilient people to join our team and help support our participants build their capacity with social and community participation, independent living skills and achieving their goals.
This role will be situated in the Newcastle and Maitland area, working with our participants to provide high-quality support to participants, including: Personal care, Community access, One-on-one supports.
Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively within a team.
Reliable and compassionate
Demonstrate person centred care principles.
Managing emotions and challenging behaviours.
Administrative duties i.e., shifts notes and reports.
Provide direct care and support to people with a disability with all activities of daily living which may include domestic duties, personal care, social support in the community, medication assistance, manual handling, transport, meals and attending appointments.
Essential Criteria:
Current unrestricted driver’s license.
Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Current NDIS worker check (or willingness to obtain).
Current Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
Reliable vehicle with current registration and comprehensive car insurance that you are willing to use to transport Clients.
Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, weekends and public holidays. Shifts will generally vary from 2 to 6 hours in length between the hours of 6.30am to 8.30pm.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Smart Phone.
Desired Criteria:
Relevant industry qualification.
Experience working in the community services sector.
Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with mental health, complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
