Join Sunflower Services, an NDIS provider in Newcastle, Maitland, the Central Coast and Greater Hunter Region, with interstate offices in both Adelaide and the Gold Coast. We are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for both our clients and our team members. We operate with a commitment to trauma-informed care, tailoring our approach to meet the unique needs of each individual we support while ensuring their NDIS goals are achieved.
As a boutique NDIS provider specialising in mental health support, we offer more than just a job – we provide a fulfilling career opportunity with a team of compassionate, knowledgeable, and caring team leaders and caseworkers. With us, you'll have the chance to grow both personally and professionally, supported by comprehensive online mental health training and opportunities for advancement within the company.
We are seeking empathetic, resilient, and dynamic individuals to join our team. Experience is appreciated but not necessary. We are open to all applicants who are open and willing to participate in role-based training and professional development.
We are especially encouraging applicants with certificates in nursing and an interest in personal care, as well as individuals looking to make a start in SIL (Supported Independent Living) based support work, who are dedicated and committed to consistent and compassionate care on a rotating 24-hour roster. Whether you're looking for part-time or full-time roles, we offer above award rates and a range of benefits for the right candidates after a period of 3-months.
As a Mental Health and Disability Support Worker at Sunflower Services, your responsibilities will include engaging clients at home and in community activities, maintaining accurate case notes, facilitating therapeutic conversations, and assisting clients in achieving their NDIS goals. You'll work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our clients while advocating for their rights and autonomy.
Examples of your job roles include:
Deliver personal care with empathy and respect (e.g. showering, dressing, grooming)
Support participants with mobility and transfers
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and domestic duties
Provide transport and support for community access, appointments, and social activities
Build positive, therapeutic relationships through a lens of compassion
Accurately document progress, concerns, and changes in presentation
Support participants in building daily living skills and confidence
Act in alignment with NDIS guidelines and practices whilst on shift
To succeed in this role, you'll need to demonstrate experience in mental health, hold relevant certifications such as a First Aid and CPR certification, WWCC and NDIS Worker Screening Check, and possess a valid driver's license with access to your own car and comprehensive car insurance.
If you're passionate about making a positive impact and are ready to embark on a fulfilling career journey with Sunflower Services, we encourage you to apply and join us in our mission to empower individuals with mental health challenges and disabilities to live their best lives.
