The Opportunity – 12 Month Day Rate Contract:
We’re seeking an experienced Business Analyst with billing system and energy sector expertise to support a major transformation initiative. Over the next six months, you’ll partner with senior stakeholders across billing, customer, operations, finance, and IT to define requirements and shape solutions that improve billing accuracy, customer outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include:
Work with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements relating to billing processes and systems
Analyse current-state billing operations, customer journeys, and regulatory obligations to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement
Support the definition of scope, benefits, costs, and business impacts for billing system enhancements and related projects
Develop clear documentation including business requirements, process maps, options analysis, and impact assessments
Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working groups with stakeholders across customer, finance, operations, IT, and regulatory teams
Assist in preparing presentations and supporting materials for executive and steering committee review
If the program progresses to delivery, this role has strong potential to extend into implementation
What we are looking for:
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) highly regarded
Proven experience as a Business Analyst on billing systems (preferably in energy or utilities)
Strong understanding of energy industry processes, customer billing, market settlements, and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and system requirements into clear documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience in agile and/or hybrid delivery environments, with strong facilitation and requirements management skills
Solid financial and commercial acumen, including the ability to support cost-benefit and ROI analysis
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence in presenting to senior leadership and governance forums
