About the role
The Payroll Officer position is responsible for the processing and reconciliation of end-to-end payroll functions within WVPHN.
This is a hybrid role based from anywhere in the western Victoria region, with some travel required for training and team days.
Duties include:
Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll including salary packaging, leave management and superannuation.
Work closely with HR, IT & Finance where required for new starter set up, onboarding, contract changes, leave audits and terminations in TechnologyOne.
Ensure all staff receive appropriate entitlements in relation to Awards, Agreements, Contracts & staff change documentation.
Work within legislative requirements relating to taxation, government paid parental leave and superannuation.
Month-end reconciliations and other tasks to assist Finance as directed by Senior Finance Manager.
Key Selection Criteria includes:
Must have a minimum of 5 years of high-level payroll and business administration systems
Demonstrated experience interpreting industrial awards, enterprise agreements and relevant legislation e.g. superannuation and taxation
Demonstrated experience in payroll audits and compliance, including reporting and long service leave
Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Excellent interpersonal, written, and numeracy skills
Employment requirements:
Be prepared to undergo a National Police Check, prior to appointment
A current Victorian driver’s licence
Working rights in Australia (visa, permanent resident, citizen)
