About the Role
We are seeking an Estimator/Operations assistant to join our team. This role is key in preparing accurate and detailed project quotes, ensuring clarity, compliance, and efficiency in the bidding process. Working with systems such as AroFlo and Ground Plan, you’ll break down technical drawings into clear material take-offs, labour requirements, and costings to deliver professional client-ready quotes. You will also work alongside the operations manager to ensure the timely delivery of the projects for the clients.

Key Responsibilities

Review project drawings and documentation, requesting clarification where needed

Prepare accurate material take-offs (manual or digital)

Source and manage up-to-date supplier quotes

Enter detailed costs for labour, materials, transport, and contingencies

Apply markups, manage exclusions, and identify project risks

Produce clear, professional quotes and submit for management approval

Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams

Track, follow up, and maintain a register of all submitted quotes

Assist the Operations team with admin tasks & 3D plasma profile drawings on simple software

What We’re Looking For

3+ years’ experience in estimating, quoting, or cost planning within construction, fabrication, or related trades

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Proficiency in estimating/job management software (AroFlo, Ground Plan or similar)

Skilled in preparing material take-offs and cost breakdowns

Solid understanding of labour costing, supplier pricing, and risk management

Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

Certificate III or IV in a relevant trade (Fabrication, Construction, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.) highly regarded
