About The Role

We currently have a vacancy for a full time, Canberra-based Senior Accountant to join the team. More experienced candidates may also be considered for a Manager role.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

Preparing and reviewing complex financial statements and other accounting reports for our clients

Managing all aspects of the financial reporting cycle including monthly and year-end processes, facilitation of external audit and reporting to audit committees

Providing expert advice and guidance to clients on accounting and taxation matters

Collaborating with clients to implement, review and maintain efficient accounting processes and controls

Budget management, reporting and finance business partnering

Mentoring and developing junior members of the accounting team

Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements

About You

Along with strong work ethic and previous experience in a similar position you will have/be:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field required

Senior Accountant level with 3+ years of experience and studying towards/achieved CA/CPA

Manager level with CA/CPA and 5-8+ years relevant experience - 8+ years of post-qualification experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within a professional services firm

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for Commonwealth Government work (incl Australian citizenship)

Experience working with or in Commonwealth entities is highly desirable

Proven expertise in preparing financial statements and other complex accounting reports

Strong working knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical and commercially-focused advice

Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring junior team members

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients

This role would be ideal for a first mover from Big 4/mid-tier firms.
