Are you ready to lead with passion, serve with excellence, and create unforgettable experiences? Bendigo Heritage is on the hunt for an exceptional Assistant Manager - Hospitality Operations to take our food and beverage services to the next level.
THE POSITION
As Assistant Manager – Hospitality Operations, you’ll play a key role in supporting the team to deliver high-quality hospitality experiences across our unique venues – including the Tram Café, Golden Scoops, Groove Tram, Central Deborah Gold Mine, and a wide variety of functions, catering, and events.
This is a hands-on role that blends customer service excellence with food and beverage operations, all within one of Bendigo’s most exciting tourism organisations.
POSITION RESPONSIBIILITIES
Collaborate with the Manager - Hospitality Operations to ensure hospitality operations are successfully delivered across the organisation, including the Tram Café, Golden Scoops, Groove Tram, Central Deborah Gold Mine, functions, catering and events.
Work with the Manager - Hospitality Operations to contribute to training and mentoring team members with a strong focus on great customer service.
Successfully prepare and sell food and beverages, tour products and merchandise.
Assist in the management of stock control and ordering of F&B across the organisation.
Ensure Food Safety and OH&S compliance.
Assist with the development and implementation of new products, menus, marketing and initiatives that aim to grow revenue.
Act as Bendigo Heritage Duty Manager as required.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a mix of skills, experience, and passion for hospitality excellence. Here’s what we value:
Experience in hospitality operations at a management level including barista, food service and bartending.
Experience within a commercial kitchen undertaking food preparation and service.
Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring, coaching and managing diverse teams.
Deep understanding of guest expectations to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
Experience in stock control management.
Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory standards to ensure full compliance and uphold quality.
Good basic computer skills – MS Word and Excel, SharePoint, email, and internet.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
