Woods & Co Recruitment is excited to partner with one of Australia’s leading hospitality groups to find a motivated and experienced Assistant Venue Manager to join a well-established pub and events venue in Melbourne’s western suburbs. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to step up into a hands-on leadership role, backed by strong operational support and clear paths for career growth.

What do you do?
- Lead and develop the front-of-house team, managing scheduling to meet business needs and support work-life balance.
- Maintain excellent customer service, act on feedback and oversee venue security and health and safety compliance.
- Collaborate on event planning and delivery while managing daily financial operations including cash handling and reconciliations.
- Supervise overall venue operations to ensure smooth, compliant service and coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and training with HR.
- Support promotional activities alongside management and identify opportunities to improve the venue and guest experience.
What do you need?
- 3+ years’ hospitality management experience with strong leadership, financial, and operational skills.
- Confident leading teams, managing performance and driving service excellence.
- Calm under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with OpenTable and OrderMate POS is a bonus.
