Eastern Automation is a specialised manufacturer and supplier of hydrauclic and pneumatic solutions to the industrial, waste, water, construction and mining industries. We have been designing, manufacturing and servicing hydraulic, pneumatic and automation systems and components for over 20 years worldwide. Our hydraulic cylinders are tested in our NATA Accredited Testing (ISO 17025) laboratory.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Apprentice (Cert III): Mechanical Engineering to join our team and assist to provide the highest quality of service to our customers in various industries including steel, paper, transport, water, waste and construction industries

This role will be based in our facility in Boronia, Victoria.

Qualifications & experience

Minimum Year 11 or 12

Possess a strong work ethic

Ability to work safely and follow instructions and procedures

Drivers License preferred but not essential

Tasks & responsibilities

Learn and experience a broad range of skills including lathe & mill operation, fluid power (hydraulics) & mechanical fitting

Observe and receive training to work in the field

Learn repair and general maintenance

Assist tradespeople and technicians on various project work

Assist in the disassembly of mechanical components for quote and repair

Assist in the general machining and assembly of hydraulic components

Assist in building hydraulic and pneumatic systems and testing procedures
