Scope and Purpose of the Job
WithNot4 are seeking a vibrant, and enthusiastic individual to join our team in Moruya as a Finance Officer. This role is ideal for someone who possesses excellent bookkeeping skills, has an eye for detail, and is a collaborative team player. As our Finance Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and keeping up with relevant industry changes.
Responsibilities and Duties
Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
Prepare and process invoices, payroll, superannuation payments, and other financial documents like income & expenditure reports, BAS statements while ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
Ensure regular and scheduled payments are paid appropriately and as required.
Assist in budget preparation and monitor budget variances, providing recommendations for cost savings and efficiencies.
Maintain data integrity within financial systems, perform regular reconciliations and prepare journals.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accounting standards & relevant awards (SCHADS).
Collaborate with the organisation's Accountant, team members and other relevant organisations to gather financial information, resolve discrepancies, and support decision-making processes.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficient bookkeeping practices to enhance productivity and accuracy.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members, and all people encountered in the workplace.
Selection Criteria
Essential
Minimum of 3 year’s experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
A degree or certification in accounting or extensive experience is preferred.
Proficient in bookkeeping software and tools, such as QuickBooks, or similar applications.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, financial calculations, and record keeping.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll, and reconciliation processes.
Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, other organisations, and all people encountered in the workplace.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work effectively, and meet deadlines in an active work environment.
Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and personal information and demonstrate high ethical standards in all professional activities.
Proactive in identifying and resolving issues, with a keen eye for identifying process improvements.
Collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with colleagues to achieve common goals.
