This is one of those rare roles with real breadth—direct and indirect tax, governance, technical advisory, and hands-on ATO interaction—within a supportive corporate environment working closely with both the Head of Tax and Group FC. It’s an ideal move for someone stepping out of a firm or building on corporate tax experience who wants genuine ownership of the Group’s tax function.

What you’ll do

• Own end-to-end direct & indirect tax compliance across the Group (Income Tax, FBT, GST, foreign withholding).
• Review returns prepared by the finance team; prepare and lodge where required; manage payments to avoid interest/penalties.
• Prepare tax effect accounting entries and support audit requirements.
• Liaise directly with the ATO and other authorities; lead reviews and audits.
• Improve tax governance frameworks, processes, and controls; proactively manage tax risk.
• Support ad-hoc projects and deliver clear, practical tax advice to stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

• CA/CPA (or equivalent) with a degree in Accounting, Finance or Law.
• ~4–6 years’ experience in tax, gained in a Big 4/top-tier firm or a large corporate, across both direct and indirect taxes.
• Confident communicator with a hands-on, solutions-first approach and the ability to partner across the business.
• Experience with ATO assurance reviews and tax governance design/implementation is a strong advantage.
