Senior Full Stack Engineer (AI Focused)

🔍 Overview:

Red Cartel is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong experience in back-end development, front-end development and a deep, hands-on understanding of modern AI technologies. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering and applied machine learning, and who can contribute to building scalable products that leverage intelligent systems end-to-end.

🛠 Core Responsibilities:

Design and develop scalable back-end systems (Python, SQL/PostgreSQL).

Build modern front-end interfaces (TypeScript, React, CSS).

Architect and maintain data pipelines and vectorised databases.

Integrate and apply AI/ML systems into production environments.

Collaborate closely with product and research teams to deploy intelligent agents and LLM-based tools.

Own projects from prototype to deployment, with a strong emphasis on usability, performance, maintainability and clean architecture.

Developing clean API's to support streamlined integration into existing products.

✅ What We’re Looking For:

💻 Technical Skills:

Proficient in Python for both application and AI-related development.

Strong SQL/PostgreSQL experience, ability to design and optimise relational schemas.

Solid front-end skills in React, TypeScript, CSS (or equivalent stack).

Demonstrated experience in deploying full-stack applications end-to-end.

🤖 AI & Machine Learning Experience:

We’re especially interested in candidates who can speak concretely to their experience in some of the following:

Working with large language models (LLMs), including fine-tuning and prompt engineering.

Building or integrating agentic AI systems or autonomous coding agents.

Experience with reinforcement learning or RLHF.

Using vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).

Implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.

Deploying ML systems into production (not just research or prototyping).

Deploying solutions that leverage generative AI pipelines to produce media (audio, imagery, videos).

🌟 Preferred Qualities:

Demonstrated ability to self-direct and ship end-to-end features with minimal oversight.

Deep understanding of the AI product ecosystem (what’s emerging, what’s stable, and what’s hype).

Experience working on early-stage or fast-moving product teams.
