Our client
Our client is a much-loved hospitality brand with multiple locations and a team of circa 200 people across Melbourne. Known for its fun, family vibe and quality food, the business has built a loyal customer following and now enters an exciting growth phase — scaling up while staying true to its roots.
To support this growth phase, they're creating a dedicated People & Culture function to shape their culture sustainably.
The role
Reporting to the Group General Manager and working closely with the founder, this is a hands-on opportunity to shape how people, culture and performance come to life across the business. You'll build the foundations of the P&C function — balancing compliance and structure with initiatives that drive engagement, capability and leadership development.
This role will suit someone with experience in hospitality, retail or another fast-paced, customer-driven environment who want to stretch their strategic HR capability. It could be the perfect next step for an emerging P&C professional ready for their first leadership role, or for someone more established looking for the flexibility of a more flexible permanent role.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and manage the People & Culture function across the full employee lifecycle
- Create policies, compliance frameworks and governance initiatives suited to a multi-site workforce
- Work with teams, leaders & external partners to build engagement and capability
- Inform on recruitment, shape onboarding and drive performance and employee relations discussions
- Develop leadership development and training programs
- Foster a people-first culture that supports growth, accountability and care in a commercial way

- Motivation to grow with the business and shape its P&C function
