Position Number: 1005 Location: Queanbeyan
The Package: $132,045.68 - $145,912 gross per annum + 12% super. (Evaluated as Grade 19 of the QPRC Salary System 2025), plus potential performance-based progression.
Full time – 35 hours per week. RDO / flexible work arrangements applicable as well as leaseback vehicle.
Are you ready to lead governance, legal and risk for a modern, community-focused Council and drive effective and transparent decision-making across the organisation?
In this role you will:
· Maintain governance frameworks, manage internal audit and provide legal oversight.
· Lead policy review, delegations, insurance oversight, councillor support and elections coordination.
· Provide strategic advice to the General Manager and Executive, manage resources and budgets, and deliver mandatory training to staff, councillors and volunteers.
We are looking for someone who:
· Holds tertiary qualifications in governance/business or extensive relevant local government experience.
· Has proven skills in governance, investigations, GIPA, Public Interest Disclosures, risk and insurance, and strong communication.
· Is a practical leader who meets statutory timeframes, manages budgets/staff and holds a Class C driver’s licence.
