Hays are currently working with Australian Government Agency, who are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to oversee the delivery of capital works across a diverse and complex property portfolio.

Your new role

• Lead a team to deliver capital works projects on time, within budget, and to scope.
• Oversight of end-to-end construction project management, including planning, design, approvals, procurement and delivery - ensuring alignment with strategic asset management and operational goals.
• Develop and manage reporting frameworks, budgets, and governance structures.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government and industry.
• Provide strategic advice and manage risks in complex and ambiguous situations.
• Foster a collaborative, ethical, and high-performance team culture.

What you'll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience in leading capital works teams within the governance framework, guidelines and procedures
• Proven experience in performance management and capability development
• Strong knowledge of the commonwealth government procurement guidelines
• High level understanding of program management
• Ideally, you will have relevant industry qualifications.
• Strong leadership capabilities and high-level communication skills
• You must be an Australian citizen to be eligible to work with the Federal Government.
