The New South Wales Teachers Federation is the registered trade union representing NSW public school teachers in pre-schools, infants, primary and secondary schools and TAFE Institutes. About the Role
We have an exciting 18-month Fixed-Term Contract opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of IT Manager.
The IT Manager supports the organisation by ensuring the Federation’s technology infrastructure supports the operational and strategic needs of the organisation.
The IT Manager manages the cost-effective delivery of high business value technologies, manages IT related risks in accordance with organisational protocols, maintains and develops a competent IT team focused on delivery, develops a shared technology vision within the organisation, and delivers operational services that meet organisational needs.

Leadership of a profession IT Team.
About You
To be considered for this role you will need to clearly demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Management or relevant experience
Minimum 10 years hands on experience in Information Technology
Proven experience in a technical management role in a complex Information Technology environment
Lead experience in project management
Broad experience with budget preparation and financial management
In-depth technical understanding of data systems and networks
Experience in policy & strategy development
Experience with vendor management and tender preparation
Experience with Microsoft, Unix and PC-based technologies
Excellent organizational & communication skills
Positive attitude to unionism
Demonstrated awareness of WHS policies and procedures
