The Role
We are seeking a Workshop / Project Co-Ordinator to join our Mackay-based team. This is a pivotal role responsible for coordinating daily workshop activities, inspection bookings, and internal job logistics to ensure the smooth execution of onsite and offsite projects.
You will be the link between workshop operations, administrative support, and project delivery teams—keeping schedules on track, resources organised, and communication clear with employees, clients, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule onsite inspections and workshop activities at least 4 weeks in advance.
Coordinate readiness of personnel, equipment, and job information.
Track delivery of site-supplied parts and materials.
Prepare, issue, and update job packs including scope documentation, ITPs, safety forms, and instructions.
Support welder qualification sessions by organising materials, consumables, and NDT bookings.
Conduct monthly stocktakes of consumables and equipment; raise orders as required.
Oversee logistics, delivery, and dispatch of fabricated items and inspection materials.
Maintain accurate scheduling records and provide updates to the Operations Manager.
Assist with general administration, record keeping, and workshop organisation.
About You
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with a strong eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience in coordination, workshop, or scheduling within mining, fabrication, or heavy industry.
Knowledge of structural repair, welding, or inspection workflows (desirable).
Understanding of welder qualification processes (AS/NZS 1554, AS 1796, ISO 9606) is advantageous.
Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and calendar management.
Current Australian driver’s licence.
Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain) is an advantage.
