Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Queensland Node Co-ordinator, Indigenous Genomics Network to join School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health.
This is an identified position and only open to applicants of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. The role requires a person who can demonstrate a strong understanding of, and commitment to, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, leadership, and interests. Under the leadership of a Queensland Chief Investigator team, the Queensland Node Co-ordinator (QNC) will establish a jurisdictional node to support development of a National Roadmap for implementation of Pharmacogenomics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Additionally, and as an experienced manager, the QNC will ensure key deliverables, including: the establishment of local Indigenous governance structures; consultation, engagement, and involvement of partners and stakeholders; participation in the National Network activities; developing and co-ordinating workforce development initiatives with stakeholders; and supporting the development of local and national Indigenous genomic policies. This position will be based in Brisbane; however, flexible working arrangements can be negotiated. Intra-state and interstate travel will be required. This position will work under the leadership and guidance of a Queensland CI group, reporting to a QUT based CI and supported by an Indigenous CI based at CQUniversity. This position reports to A/Prof Shivashankar H Nagaraj for supervision, career planning, development and performance expectations.

What you need to succeed
1. Education training and/or experience equivalent to a degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience in an area such as business administration, project management, bio-medical science, public or population health, health, research, policy, and/or Aboriginal and/or Torres strait Islander studies.
2. Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, peoples, families, communities, service providers and organisations.
3. Demonstrated experience in conducting or supporting research involving Aboriginal and/or Torres people, peoples and communities.
4. Demonstrated project management experience and skills, including financial/budget management.
5. Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience and expertise; particularly in relation to working with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and their interests.
6. Highly developed written and oral communication skills, and experience working with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander interests and stakeholders.
7. Strong strategic, operational and organisational management skills, including demonstrated ability to set goals, identify priorities and meet deadlines.
