About the Role
As a Casual Cafe and Kitchen Assistant, you will:
Operate Blend Café, including set-up, closing, till duties, placing orders, and serving hot and cold food and beverages.
Prepare daily food, short-order meals, and event catering as directed by the Food Services Coordinator.
Ensure all food safety handling and Food Services operations comply with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (Standard 3.2.2 A Food Safety Practices and General Requirement) at all times
Prepare espresso drinks, milkshakes, fresh juices, and assist with catering orders alongside the Food Services team.
Perform cleaning duties, including dishwashing, equipment, floors, and regularly clearing and cleaning Blend Café tables, dining areas, and courtyard.
Monitor and document food and equipment temperatures per Food Standards Australia New Zealand.
Assist with stock management and food ordering, and support catering and event work at off-site locations as required.
What You’ll Bring
Certificate III in Cookery and/or demonstrated cooking experience
Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to excellent customer service
Proven time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines in a busy food environment
Able to work effectively in a team and support colleagues across Food Services
Willingness to obtain Food Safety Supervisor certification
Experience in short-order cooking and catering for events
Experience in setting up café servery with daily produce, ensuring food safety and presentation
Experience in operating a till and Eftpos Machine
Commitment to WHS principles, risk reduction, and attending relevant training
Commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles
Current NSW Drivers Licence
Desirable
Knowledge of Food Safety Practices and Standards
