About Us
Lavender Estate (formerly Yanchep Lavender Farm) is an award-winning agritourism venue where Guests can experience the journey from paddock to product. Our farm, distillery, café, retail store, and event spaces all work together to create a truly immersive experience – and our stunning lavender fields are at the heart of it all.
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Farm Maintenance and Production Manager to take ownership of our lavender fields, grounds, equipment, and oil distillation process. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance day-to-day farm work with planning, seasonal coordination, and Team supervision.
From perfecting the presentation of our fields to overseeing the annual harvest, you’ll ensure our property looks its best, runs efficiently, and meets the high standards our Guests expect. Depending on the right candidate fit, you may occasionally step into a host role – giving short (15–5 minute) presentations to small groups.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain lavender fields, gardens, pathways, fencing, and signage to a premium standard year-round
Manage plant health, irrigation, crop care, and seasonal pruning
Plan and lead the annual lavender harvest and operate distillation equipment
Maintain and service tractors, mowers, harvest machinery, and processing equipment
Supervise and train seasonal Farm Team Members during peak times
Oversee ordering, stock control, and supplier coordination for farm consumables and parts
Occasionally deliver short presentations or demonstrations to tour groups and event visitors
Uphold strict safety, compliance, and risk management practices
About You
You’re a practical problem-solver with strong mechanical and horticultural skills, and you thrive working outdoors in a visual, Guest-facing environment. You take pride in presentation, lead by example, and can keep things running smoothly even in peak season. You’re also comfortable speaking to small groups and sharing your passion for the farm when needed.
What You’ll Bring
Proven farm maintenance or property management experience
Mechanical aptitude and ability to maintain farm machinery
Knowledge of plant health, soil care, and pest management
Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan seasonally
Leadership skills with a focus on training and supporting your Team
Comfortable giving short, engaging presentations to visitors
Commitment to safety and high presentation standards
Driver’s licence preferred (but not essential)
Why Join Us?
At Lavender Estate, you’ll be part of a close-knit Team in a stunning location, working in a role where you can see the results of your effort every day. You’ll have the opportunity to influence the Guest experience, shape the look of our signature lavender fields, and contribute to a growing tourism destination.
