About Unison
Unison is a for-purpose organisation that works to reduce disadvantage and social exclusion for over 3,500 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness each year. We believe that housing is the foundation on which to build a life of value but that a good life takes more than just housing - a good life takes place in a community. We’re also committed to building a thriving community internally for the people that work with us. We’re proud to offer contemporary people programs and benefits in line with our values, and we’re certified as a Great Place to Work.
About the role
The Contracts Manager will join our Property team, which plays a vital role in maintaining safe, sustainable housing across our portfolio.
In this hands-on, strategic role, you will prepare, negotiate and coordinate contracts, service agreements and commercial leases related to our properties. You will work closely with contractors, landlords, tenants, and internal teams to ensure contracts are accurate, compliant, and aligned with performance expectations. You'll also help drive improvements in contract tracking, performance reporting, and cost-efficiency initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare, review and process contracts and commercial leases.
Ensure documentation aligns with relevant legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Maintain a centralised contract register, to actively track key milestones, renewal and completion dates.
Monitor contractor performance and implement corrective actions where needed.
Help resolve contract-related queries and escalate risks or issues where needed.
Build positive working relationships with internal teams, contractors, landlords, and tenants to support smooth communication and delivery.
Contribute to cost-saving initiatives across the property function.
Prepare reports to support decision-making and ensure compliance with performance measures.
What we are looking for
Proven experience in contract management or administration within property, facilities, or asset management.
Demonstrated knowledge of commercial leasing.
Excellent stakeholder management skills knowing how to build trust, negotiate and follow up with care.
Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
Proficiency in using contract management systems or tools (e.g., Excel, contract databases).
Why join us?
At Unison, you’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team where your work has real impact. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and be part of a team that values trust, reliability, and continuous improvement. We offer great career development opportunities and a competitive salary and benefits package.
Apply now and help the future of our property operations. We will be reviewing applications as they come in.
