Group Payroll & Accounts Administrator
We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced payroll and accounts administrator to join our team. This is a standalone role suited to someone confident in managing end-to-end payroll operations and keeping everything running smoothly—so the rest of us don’t have to worry!
Responsibilities will include:
Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all group entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation, awards, EBAs, and internal policies
Manage the onboarding process, including preparing contracts and letters of offer, setting up new employees in the system, and handling terminations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
Process weekly payroll and coordinate weekly tips distribution
Handle statutory reporting obligations, including superannuation, payroll tax, Single Touch Payroll (STP), WorkCover, and end-of-financial-year (EOFY) submissions
Manage and administer WorkCover claims in coordination with injured employees, insurers, and relevant stakeholders
Take full responsibility for the employee sponsorship process, including tracking visa conditions, preparing supporting documentation, and liaising with migration agents
Manage accounts and perform reconciliations for the dedicated payroll entity
Assist the Group Accountant with end-of-month processes and reporting
Provide leave coverage for other members of the finance team as required
Liaise with internal teams, external auditors, and government bodies as required
Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll systems and streamline administrative processes
What You’ll Bring:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar payroll role
In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance obligations
Proficiency in payroll systems (Tanda experience highly regarded)
Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Ability to work independently and take full ownership of payroll operations
Strong communication and time management skills
Experience in preparing payroll journals and performing account reconciliations
Immediate availability preferred
