About the role
The Utilities Asset Planning and Management Team is team of passionate and experienced asset engineers, and planning and design engineers. They plan for the future by identifying where we need to replace or build new water, sewerage and stormwater assets.
There are four main teams – Program Management, Integrated Planning (Water and Wastewater), Asset Management (Water and Wastewater) and Stormwater.
As team leader of one of the four main teams, your specialisation will be program management. You will support your team in the development of critical projects, such as sewage treatment plants. You will also:
Lead program and project management of high risk projects, including stakeholder management of sewage treatment plant planning projects and critical asset management projects and programs.
Support and at times lead the achievement of Gate 1 and Gate 2 Projects for high risk projects.
Working with input from Asset Management, Planning, and Stormwater Coordinators, develop and update forward programs to support transparency and effective capital works programs
Engage with a number of stakeholders, particularly to support the development of the sewage treatment plant program.
Assist in setting project deadlines and work with others to ensure they are met.
Lead development of business cases.
Develop cost intelligence for the team, and improve business system
Contribute to a positive, empowering workplace culture.
We’re looking for people who have:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
At least 10 years of project and program management experience with experience in Planning preferred.
Experience with delivering time-sensitive, critical projects.
Experience in Infrastructure delivery required, with Water Infrastructure experience preferred.
Experience with Sewage Treatment Plants highly regarded.
Experience with Business Case Development preferred.
Stakeholder Management Experience required
Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including mediation, negotiation, consultation and conflict resolution.
An ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise in a planning environment.
A natural affinity for problem solving, critical thinking and proactive in gathering information, analysing data and identifying suitable solutions.
An ability to manage a high-performing team and foster good relationships between team members.
Strong skills in planning for infrastructure projects, and organising others to ensure the timely completion of tasks
