St John of God Geelong Hospital is a 253 bed hospital and is recognised as the leading provider of private health care in the Barwon and South-Western region. The hospital provides a range of services including an emergency department, day surgery, medical, surgical and maternity services, along with a 24 hour critical care unit and Cath Lab services.
Your Role at St John of God Geelong Hospital
We have two opportunities for Registered Nurses or dual Registered Nurse/Midwives with recent experience in Special Care Nursery or Neonatal Intensive Care to join our core staff.
We are offering a fixed term 12-month part time role at 45 hours/fortnight and a permanent part time role at 30 hours/fortnight.
We are a Level 3 Special Care Nursery, caring for babies over 34 weeks gestation and 1500g in weight. We offer High Flow and CPAP respiratory support, so experience with these forms of ventilation is required. Recent completion of the PIPER NeoResus Advanced Resuscitation Program is also highly desirable.
The Position:
- Provide high-quality, compassionate, and family-centred care to neonatal patients, ensuring that care aligns with the philosophy, mission, and values of St John of God Healthcare.
- Responsible for delivering evidence-based, safe, and effective care to neonates, ensuring all actions are within your professional scope and adhere to established clinical standards.
- Uphold the policies and procedures of St John of God Healthcare, ensuring exceptional patient care and fostering a safe, collaborative, and dynamic workplace.
You will hold current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife and have a Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Nursing with experience in a Level 3 Special Care Nursery or above.
To succeed you will have excellent planning and organisation skills and have the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.

The Benefits:
- Salary $79,535 to $100,984 plus 12% superannuation
- A 12-month fixed term part time and a permanent part time position available
