RN Grade 2 YP2-YP9


About the role

We are seeking applications from passionate Registered Nurses to join our casual bank to provide care across a range of Directorates including:

  • Care Communities
  • Sub-Acute Services
  • Acute Services including:
  • Emergency Department
  • Intensive Care Unit / Critical Care Unit
  • Operating Suite
  • Special Care Nursery
  • Maternity
  • Paediatrics

The Casual Bank is managed by the Central Allocations Unit, which operates 7 days a week. Grampians Health utilises an electronic rostering system that matches staff to available shifts based on their listed availability, with notifications sent via text message or phone call.

To remain active on our casual bank, a minimum of 2 shifts per week is required. Due to the nature of casual shifts, candidates must be living in the Ballarat region.

You will be required to provide at least 2 referees: 1 being your current direct manager and the other an additional manager or supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate availability in our electronic rostering system and accepting shifts based on availability
  • Caring for a diverse range of patients and residents in varied care settings
  • Ability and willingness to provide high quality, direct care within scope of practice
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive, patient focussed outcomes
  • Documentation and updating of care plans / patient records
  • Provide accurate and timely communication with residents, visitors and staff at all levels within Grampians Health
  • Participate in annual performance reviews
  • Commitment to ongoing mandatory education

Skills and experience

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and hold a current Practicing Certificate
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain if working in Aged Care
  • Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills, commensurate with experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2 - YP9) which ranges from $41.36 - $52.20 per hour.
