About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Payroll Team Leader to join a dynamic team in Melbourne. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee payroll operations, mentor a team, and ensure accurate, timely payroll delivery across sites. If you have strong payroll expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for process improvement, this could be your next career move.

Duties:

Lead and manage a team of payroll professionals, providing coaching and guidance

Manage payroll month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations and compliance with all audit requirements

Ensure compliance with relevant awards, legislation, and payroll policies

Partner with wider business on payroll-related projects, including system upgrades or implementations

Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve accuracy

Provide expert advice and support to stakeholders on payroll queries

Skills and experience:

Extensive payroll experience, ideally with experience leading a team

Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g. SAP, Chris21 or similar)

Excellent understanding of award interpretation and payroll legislation

Proven ability to manage multiple payroll cycles across different locations

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Positive, proactive, and detail-oriented approach
