Senior Payroll Officer

This well renowned retail organisation are looking to support team behind the scenes, every person plays a part in delivering great experiences. Now, they are on the hunt for a Payroll Officer who’s passionate about getting the details right and keeping our staff paid on time, every time.

What’s the gig? As a key member of our Payroll team, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end payroll for our growing team across Australia and New Zealand. You’ll be the go-to for everything from regular pay runs to complex payroll queries – making sure our compliance, processes, and people are always in good hands.
What you’ll be doing:

• Manage and process Weekly and monthly payrolls across AUS & NZ
• Assist and manage the team with complex queries
• 3000 Employee Payroll
• Working in a team of 5
• Reporting to the Payroll Manager
• Oversee out-of-cycle payments, bonus runs, and award increases
• Review and approve payroll for other regions where required
• Handle novated leases, allowances, and employee data updates
• Use Time & Attendance data (Kronos) to support accurate processing
• Ensure compliance with STP and IRD reporting requirements
• Interpret Enterprise Agreements and awards, and apply NES conditions
• Calculate terminations and leave liabilities with precision
• Partner with People & Culture, Finance, and external auditors when needed

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years' experience in a full-function payroll role (multi-site or franchise experience = a big plus)
• A deep understanding of AU/NZ payroll legislation and compliance
• A stickler for detail – with strong organisational and analytical skills
• Strong communication and confidentiality chops
• Comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders
• Ideally tertiary qualified in HR, Accounting, or a related field
