The Role

As a Leading Hand, you’ll be the go-to person for daily site coordination, crew support, and technical execution. You’ll work closely with supervisors to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to spec—while fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.

What You’ll Be Doing

Allocating tasks and guiding crews to meet project milestones

Running pre-starts, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments

Operating plant and interpreting plans to deliver quality outcomes

Supporting onboarding and mentoring of new team members

Promoting safety, professionalism, and INTENT’s values on site

What You’ll Bring

3+ years’ experience in civil or rail construction

Proven leadership in field-based roles

Strong understanding of WHS and compliance standards

Ability to read plans and solve problems on the go

RIW card and Cert III/IV in Civil Construction (desirable)

A proactive, calm, and collaborative approach to team leadership

Multi-skilled in plant operations and relevant SOA or willingness to undergo training pre employment. Excavator, Posi track, roller and loader essential, Dozer/grader preferred.
