Carpenter 2nd Fix/Door Installer

Established in 1991, Adelaide Fire Doors is a family owned and operated South Australian business. We specialize in the manufacture and install of fire doors and Pressed metal Frames for the commercial and residential building industry, as well as passive fire systems.

An opportunity currently exists for a Experienced Carpenter to join our install team. This position plays an integral role in the instillation of high quality fire rated timber doors and pressed metal frames with Occasional 2nd fix and sundry installation

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced environment, and working with little supervision while maintaining quality standards and workmanship. They will be self-motivated and trustworthy and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

Read and understand shop drawings

Fire/Standard Door Installation

2nd Fix Carpentry inc sundry install

High security door instillation such as Defence and Prison

Pressed metal frame installation

Hardware installation/preparation

Door repairs and steel frame modifications

Basic welding experience advantage

Onsite backfilling and Caulking

General warehousing duties such as backfilling door frames

Understanding fire door compliance in line with specified core provider

Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment

Assist with installation of passive fire products such as Promat board

Assist colleagues whenever necessary

Work to strict company standards and meet project timelines

Requirements

Physically fit and able to lift heavy items

Experience in construction and door installations

Carpentry background/trade qualification

Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

Excellent organisational skills

Ability to adapt to a fast paced working environment

Able to work overtime as required

White Card

Must pass a pre employment medical

Forklift licence is an advantage but not essential

Previous experience in the fire door construction industry advantageous

Drivers licence

Own tools

Police check required

DCSI clearance
