Pilbara ISOCo Limited is the government appointed independent system operator for the North-West Interconnected System (NWIS), an electricity grid serving mining, industrial, commercial and residential loads in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
The functions of the Pilbara ISOCo are set out in Part 8A of the Electricity Industry Act 2004 and the Pilbara Network Rules. Among other things, the Pilbara ISOCo is responsible for maintaining and improving the security of the power system and facilitating network coordination and planning.
The company was registered in June 2021 as an incorporated not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee under the Corporations Act 2001. The current members of Pilbara ISOCo are the three interconnected registered network services providers – APA, Horizon Power and Rio Tinto.

About the role
As Senior Compliance, Risk and Audit Officer you will work with the Executive Team to ensure that risk and compliance is embedded across the organisation.
In this role you will be responsible for identifying, addressing and reducing risk while ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations.
Key responsibilities to include:
Establish and lead effective and fit for purpose compliance frameworks to ensure Pilbara ISOCo compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations, including energy sector regulation and competition law
Overseeing the Pilbara ISOCo compliance audit and implementation of recommendations and outcomes
Evaluating and improving Pilbara ISOCo’s external compliance monitoring function
Managing the Pilbara ISOCo’s risk management framework and
Reporting to the executive, Board and Minister for Energy (as required) on compliance.
About the applicant
You are an experienced professional in compliance, risk and/or audit frameworks. You have a demonstrated ability to work independently, develop practical solutions, manage compliance processes and engage with stakeholders across all levels.
Qualifications and experience:
Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or a proven background in developing, implementing and maintaining compliance, risk and/or audit frameworks within an organisation
Experience in investigating allegations in a sensitive and confidential environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders and
Experience within the energy sector or competition law is highly advantageous.
