About the Role
Our client is the go-to fleet support team for businesses that rely on their vehicles every day. From motorcycles to delivery vans, their passion lies in keeping fleets efficient, compliant, and on the road with minimal downtime.
They are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This isn’t just your typical bookkeeping role. You'll be the financial backbone of the business, managing not just the books, but helping ensure compliance, payroll accuracy, apprentice onboarding, and fleet administration.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation: Reconcile all bank and credit card transactions for each entity, ensuring accurate categorisation and supporting documentation.
- Accounts Payable: Review, code, and process vendor bills, prioritising urgent payments and maintaining healthy supplier relationships.
- Accounts Receivable: Enter and apply invoices and payments accurately across systems, monitoring aging reports and following up where needed.
- General Ledger & Reporting: Maintain journal entries and produce accurate monthly P&L and balance sheets for both entities.
- Payroll Oversight: Process payroll, manage leave entitlements, and ensure accurate allocations, superannuation, and compliance.
- Tax & Compliance: Prepare and submit BAS/IAS on time and monitor payroll tax obligations across entities.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Draft job ads, manage applicant tracking, and coordinate onboarding for new hires and apprentices.
- Insurance & Fleet Administration: Manage business and vehicle insurance, registrations, servicing, and fuel usage tracking for all company vehicles
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a similar bookkeeping or finance admin role within a similar industry, but this is not essential
- Strong knowledge of Xero and Excel and experience with payroll, compliance, and reconciliations
- A proactive approach to improving systems and preventing errors
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
