Job Description
Griffith University is seeking a dynamic and detail-driven Donor Engagement Officer to join our purpose-led Advancement team. This is a high-impact position where your work will directly contribute to building lasting donor relationships and advancing the University’s philanthropic mission.
You’ll be at the centre of our donor stewardship efforts, ensuring every interaction is thoughtful, accurate, and aligned with our values. From coordinating impactful communications to supporting donor events and recognition programs, your work will build trust, deepen relationships, and support the University’s fundraising goals. You’ll play a key role in ensuring every donor feels valued, informed, and inspired.
This role is ideal for professionals with experience in administration, events, marketing, communications, alumni relations, or customer engagement. If you’re organised, relationship-focused, and thrive in purpose-driven environments, we are keen to hear from you.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Coordinate donor acknowledgements and stewardship reports with accuracy and impact.
- Support fundraisers in using CRM tools to maintain high-quality donor data.
- Support the planning and delivery of donor-specific events and engagements (occasional out-of-hours work may be required).
- Contribute to donor recognition initiatives and university-wide fundraising programs.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver seamless, high-touch experiences for donors and stakeholders.
About you
The successful candidate will hold an associate diploma or have an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience in donor relations, communications, events, marketing, or a related field. You’re ready to thrive in a role that values thoughtful engagement, continuous growth, and meaningful outcomes.
You're not just good at what you do—you care about why you do it. You’re:
- A clear communicator – professional, warm, and donor-focused.
- Detail-oriented – you catch the small things that make a big difference.
- Empathetic – you build trust and genuine relationships.
- Organised – juggling tasks and managing data with ease.
- A team player – you collaborate, contribute, and celebrate wins together.
- Tech-savvy – confident using CRM systems and digital tools.
