About You

To apply for and be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing professional development resources, tools, training and/or other support services for capacity building in all children's education and care service types.
  • Capacity and willingness to travel for a limited number of service visits and workshops, and hold a current and full driver's licence.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven capacity to communicate persuasively and deliver informative, engaging and culturally appropriate webinars, communities of practice, workshops and other presentations.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated intermediate Microsoft 365 Suite skills, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A tertiary qualification in early childhood education or a child safety related field of study, or comparable professional experience.
  • A tertiary qualification in adult learning and development, or a related field of study or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Hold a Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or able to obtain before employment.

The Role

The Reforming Early Childhood Safety (RECS) Facilitator is part of a diverse team of practice and content development professionals, delivering a program to build workforce capacity in relation to child safety reforms and legislation in Queensland based children's education and care services.

The RECS project will deliver a program that enhances child safety capability and confidence by supporting service providers and leaders to implement and embed the required changes and practices within their service/s. It will involve development of a suite of practical tools and resources for leaders and educators, as well as a facilitated support component where needed.

The role will apply strong knowledge, skills and expertise in the key areas of child safety requirements, obligations and best practice to contribute to the team successfully delivering the project.

Two roles available, 1 full-time and 1 part-time (0.5FTE), fixed-term (until 30 June 2026) at ACECQABand 5 ($103,179 - $122,039).

Responsibilities include:

  • Utilise professional learning, coaching, facilitation and support techniques and strategies to support the Queensland children's education and care sector to build capacity and capability to meet Queensland child safety legislative requirements and obligations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strength-based interactive, engaging and culturally appropriate training materials for online and face to face delivery for participating services to support project objectives and outcomes.
  • Work co-operatively and collaboratively across ACECQA through actively engaging in productive working relationships with internal ACECQA business units and subject matter experts to deliver project milestones and deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development of project progress updates, briefs, reports, advice as required, and respond to regular and at times urgent requests for information and status updates.
  • Ensure your project related documentation is timely, accurate, managed and appropriately stored to comply with all ACECQA policies and procedures and stakeholder expectations.
  • Act ethically and professionally in accordance with ACECQA's values of Integrity, Commitment, Respect and Collaboration.
  • Use results from research, legislative and policy analysis to contribute to the development ofevidence-based support strategies, tools and resources that promote child safety capacity building and practice uplift.
  • Establish, manage and maintain effective working relationships, where appropriate, with external stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Other duties as required.
