Better Connect is a regional, integrated care initiative led by Each (in collaboration with eight partner organisations) that delivers coordinated, person-centred mental health, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), early intervention, psychosocial, and suicide prevention support across Central Queensland, Wide Bay, and the Sunshine Coast—with a “no-wrong-door” approach to simplify access to free or low-cost services.
We’re looking for a creative, organised, and relationship-driven Community Engagement & Marketing Officer to lead communications and community presence across the program. We need you to be the connector that brings stories to life and communities together.
If you love a good calendar, a powerful story, and a well-run event — this role is for you.
Your role. Your impact.
As the key engagement support for Better Connect, you’ll design and schedule digital content, help shape events, and support communications that connect our service to the communities we serve. You’ll work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including marketing teams across the Better Connect consortium, to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and inclusive.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll:
- Plan and coordinate community events, activations, and promotional campaigns
- Create engaging social media and digital content that aligns with organisational priorities
- Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders and networks
- Maintain an event and campaign calendar, and support team coordination
- Monitor campaign outcomes, engagement metrics, and event success
- Ensure brand consistency and values-aligned messaging across platforms and activities
Who we’re looking for
You’re a people-person with a creative eye and sharp organisational instincts. You’ll also bring:
- Previous experience in community engagement and event coordination
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for varied audiences
- Confidence using social media and content scheduling tools
- A current state-based driver’s license and willingness to travel for events
What will make you stand out?
- Familiarity with health promotion, service navigation, or employment services
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders or in a collaborative consortium model
- A creative mindset and ability to manage competing priorities with calm confidence
What’s in it for you
At Each, we’ll support you to thrive with:
✔ A role with purpose and variety – No two days are the same
✔ Flexible working arrangements – Travel locally with trust and autonomy
✔ Not-for-profit salary packaging – Boost your take-home pay by up to $18,550 tax-free
✔ Supportive team culture – Join a dynamic, inclusive, and friendly team
