Our Opportunity
Are you passionate about precision, compliance, and making a positive impact through your work? Cafs is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our Finance Team and help deliver seamless, people-focused payroll services that support our mission of wellbeing, safety, and respect for all children and families.
In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with our EBA, Fair Work obligations, and audit requirements. You?ll collaborate closely with our People & Engagement team and provide essential support to staff across the organisation.

About You
You are a detail oriented payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, compliance, and supporting others. With a qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll, and hands-on experience in payroll operations, you are confident navigating systems, interpreting EBAs, and ensuring obligations are met.
You are someone who values collaboration and brings a people first approach to your work. You are comfortable working across teams, responding to queries, and continuously improving processes. You are tech-savvy, resilient, and committed to integrity, inclusion, and child safety.

Skills & Attributes
- Diploma or certificate level qualification in Accounting, book keeping, payroll or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working within payroll, with understanding of systems and EA interpretations.
- Attention to Detail, ensures accuracy in payroll processing, reporting, and compliance with financial and legal obligations.
- Collaborative Communication, works effectively with People & Engagement and other teams to resolve queries and support staff.
- Problem Solving & Critical Thinking, identifies and resolves payroll issues, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Digital Literacy, confident using payroll and time/attendance systems and leveraging technology to enhance processes.

We provide over 50 programs across a range of service areas providing care for clients within communities across the central highland region.
