Our Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting families through reunification and preservation? Cafs is a values-driven organisation seeking a practitioner to deliver in-home interventions that enhance child safety, family functioning, and permanency. You'll provide practical guidance informed by attachment, trauma, and child development theories, conduct risk assessments, and develop Family Action Plans.

About You

We are looking for a motivated, values-driven individual with foundational experience in working with vulnerable families and/or children within the community services, family therapy or psychology related discipline. The ideal candidate will thrive when working autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic team.

Skills & Attributes

  • Tertiary Qualifications (Diploma and above) in Social Work, Welfare Studies, Family Therapy, Psychology or related discipline
  • Foundational experience working with vulnerable families and/or children
  • Develop individualised Family Action Plans for each family that articulate clearly protective concerns, agreed goals and bottom lines for the intervention.
  • Conduct time-limited family assessments, educational interventions and practical advice to families utilising attachment, trauma, child development theories and other relevant frameworks required to address the identified goals of the intervention.
  • Empathy & Cultural Awareness: Communicates well with, relates to and understands concerns from the perspective of people from a diverse range of cultures & backgrounds. Pays attention to words, expressions and body language, shapes responses to individuals based on a range of information received.

We provide over 50 programs across a range of service areas providing care for clients within communities across the central highland region.
