Our Opportunity
Do you have a passion for promoting family safety and wellbeing? Join Cafs, a values-led organisation committed to making a meaningful impact in our community, as a Family Safety Practitioner. In this vital role within our Family Safety Team, you'll be at the forefront of supporting individuals and families affected by violence. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular intake assessments, communicating with partners and family members, providing referrals to specialist victim-survivor services, and performing risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies.
About You
We are looking for a motivated, values-driven individual with experience working in the Community Services/Family Violence Sectors, with Bachelor qualifications in Social Work or related discipline. The ideal candidate will thrive when working autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic team.
Skills & Attributes
- Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent
- Resilience and Flexibility- Intermediate - Be flexible and adaptable and respond quickly when situations change. Listen when ideas are challenged and respond appropriately.
- Client- Focused ? Foundational- Be responsive to client needs, understanding their vulnerabilities and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Inclusivity-Foundational - Acknowledge and respect diverse cultures, backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, values and beliefs.

Cafs (Child and Family Services Ballarat) is an independent community service organisation based in Ballarat for over 160 years. We provide over 50 programs across a range of service areas providing care for clients within communities across the central highland region.
